Knock Off Golf Club Information BP's Custom Clubs in not in the business of making or selling "Knock-Off" Golf clubs. We will repair "Knock-Off" clubs. What is a "Knock-Off" Golf Club? A Knock-Off club is a golf club that was made to look like a popular brand name club. The visual characteristics such as size, color, even emblems and names are made to be as close as possible to the look of a brand name club such as a Callaway, Ping, or Taylor Made. Why don't you sell "Knock-Off" Golf Clubs? Well (legal reasons aside), we are interested in providing our customers a quality, high-performance golf club at a reasonable price. Just because a club looks like a Ping does not mean it plays like a Ping. Knock-Off's are usually exceptionally cheap because of inferior manufacture and quality standards. Does this mean you can't buy knock-offs and have them perform very well for you? No it doesn't but you have to get really lucky! Wouldn't you be disappointed if you buy these clubs and find you can't get any distance on your 8 iron. Then when you have a club fitter look at the set you find your knock-off 8 iron has the loft of a Pitching Wedge. Without quality components you leave too much to chance and luck. How do I know if I am buying a knock-off or a quality component club? Tough Question. The answer is you have to do your homework. The top component suppliers such as Golfsmith, Dynacraft, and Golfworks are well known in the industry. Other components such as Integra and Bang are well known and should be OK but they do walk the knock-off line. If you find yourself looking at clubs that look identical to a Brand Name club or have names that are obviously a parody of the brand name such as: King Snake for King Cobra; Bing for Ping; Big Brother for Big Bertha; etc. you should probably see the red flag come up. |
